What is CUR8?

CUR8 is building the platform that makes contemporary art accessible to everyone, desirable, and part of everyday life.

We combine a social-first media brand generating millions of views every month with a mobile app that helps people discover the best exhibitions and plan their visits in Paris, London, New York, and beyond.

We are a small, ambitious team building products for both art lovers and venues — and we are now looking for a senior, product-minded engineer to help us increase the pace at which we ship, learn, and improve.

Why “Founding Engineer”?

This role starts as a freelance mission, allowing both sides to move fast and validate the fit through real work.

If the collaboration is exceptional and our long-term needs are confirmed, there is a genuine opportunity for the role to grow into a lasting position at the core of CUR8’s engineering team. This is a possibility, not an automatic commitment.

Being an engineer at CUR8

Engineers at CUR8 have strong ownership over what they build and how they build it.

You will work closely with Thomas, our CTO and tech lead, and Arthur, our CEO and product owner. You will not simply execute tickets: we expect you to challenge assumptions, shape solutions, and take product experiments from framing to measurable impact.

We move and ship fast, balancing quality with speed. We release frequently, instrument what we build, and decide quickly whether to keep, iterate, or kill an experiment.

Because our products are used in real-world situations, we care deeply about reliability, readable code, thoughtful testing, and the actual impact of what we ship.

Our products

The mobile application is only the tip of the iceberg.

Our long-term ambition is to build the infrastructure for contemporary art, addressing the needs of venues and art enthusiasts throughout their journeys.

This means a variety of products and tech challenges:

🖼️ Venues — B2B: Content management, performance analytics, data visualisation, and tools that help venues better understand and grow their audiences.

📱 Consumers — B2C: Discovering exhibitions, saving them, planning visits, checking in, and building a personal memory of the art they experience.

🤖 AI and internal workflows: Using prompts, agents, and automation to improve our products, data quality, and operating efficiency.

Our immediate priority is to improve activation, engagement, and retention in our consumer product, while continuing to develop our B2B Product Pro offering.
